Puzzle Team Challenge
SUPERHERO Clevedon pupils have been learning about maths through a fun-packed Puzzle Team Challenge - supported by 'Maths Ambassador' students from Clevedon School.
The Year 2 children from Tickenham and Yeo Moor primary schools dressed up Superman, SpiderMan and the Incredible Hulk in the action-packed learning day.
They discovered there is more to maths than sums by working in small groups to solve a variety of fun and hands-on activities that involved blocks, route finding and construction.
Year 7 'Maths Ambassadors' from Clevedon School encouraged and supported the teams throughout the event.
All three schools are part of the innovative and outstanding Clevedon Learning Trust.
Event coordinator Mark Nelson, from the Clevedon Learning Trust, said: "The pupils and students all had great fun and learned a huge amount about maths in a day they will remember.
"It provided an opportunity to develop team work, creative thinking and problem solving skills; and promoting these as a source of pleasurable achievement.
"This is the first event of its kind and we plan to run it again with more schools taking part."
