Clevedon Learning Trust pupils have been enjoying being taught the very latest technology by inspirational visiting sixth form IT coding experts.

The team of Year 12 Computer Science A-Level students at Clevedon School have been delivering computer science sessions since Christmas to pupils at Mary Elton Primary School, Tickenham Primary School and Yeo Moor Primary School.

Student Amy has been teaching at Mary Elton.

Year 5 Teacher at Mary Elton Joy Stanford said: “Amy has been brilliant. She has had a significant and positive impact on the learning that has taken place with our Year Five pupils.

“She has been punctual and highly engaging during the sessions, demonstrating sound subject knowledge which has been of great support to pupils and staff alike.”

Finlay Smith has been helping at Tickenham, while Elijah Purshouse and Caleb Sharkey have been giving inspiration to Year 3 and 4 pupils at Yeo Moor.

Headteacher of Clevedon School, Jim Smith said: “These sixth form students have been extraordinary in passing on their passion and skills for coding to the younger pupils. It has been a fantastic learning project all round.”
