Clevedon School Teacher is Officially the Best
CLEVEDON School teacher Debbie Morgan is officially the best.
The former fire-eater has scooped Teacher of the Year in the Bristol Post Education Awards at a ceremony in the city last night.
Judges praised her for her boundless enthusiasm, infectious energy, determination and commitment to ensure students get a brilliant education.
Head of School Jim Smith said: "Well done Debbie! We are absolutely delighted. This is thoroughly deserved. Debbie epitomises everything Clevedon School stands for - enthusiasm, talent, determination and ambition.
"We only ever want to recruit the very best Staff at Clevedon School. It is tremendous that Debbie has been acknowledged and rewarded for her hard work and dedication."
Debbie, director of drama at Clevedon School, said: "I'm blown away to win this award. I'm really lucky to be in a school with such an ethos of creativity and innovation, which allows students and staff to thrive."
Debbie's students nominated her for the award, calling her "brilliant", "unique", "heroic" and highlighted a host of other positive attributes.
As well as driving forward 'West End quality' shows at the school, student numbers and exam results in drama and dance at the school are doing incredibly well year on year.
She was inspired to be a teacher after working with children in disadvantaged parts of Nottingham.
Student Kira Hutchings, aged 16, said: Miss has an infectious and endless supply energy and enthusiasm."
