CLT children win prestigious Pier public art competition
The Mary Elton Primary School children won awards for North Somerset Arts Week by creating artwork inspired by Clevedon Pier.
Reception pupil Warren was Joint Winner and fellow reception pupil Ava was Joint Commended, Primary Years 1-3, in the category of Somerset seaside creatures and swimmy things’.
Year 2 pupils Darci was Joint Winner and the whole of year one won as a group, Primary Years 1-3 Older, for the 'What did you see through the Porthole window?’ category.
Year 5 pupil Eve was Joint Winner and Harry was Joint Commended, Primary Years 4-6, within the ‘What did you see through the Porthole window?’ category, while Year 6 pupil Jamie was winner in the Individual Primary Years 4-6, for the Draw the rest of this story ‘Once upon a time at Clevedon Pier…’ category.
Head Teacher Dean Hudd said: "We are so proud of our pupils. We regularly encourage them to enter competitions. They have done tremendously well."
