Applying for Leadership Programme

Over the last two weeks five members of staff from our primary and secondary schools have completed the CLT Applying for Leadership programme.

This involved staff from the CLT volunteering to put themselves forward to go through a mock interview process. This involves applying by letter for a ‘fake job’ in one of our schools. This has been discussed with the member of staff and represents a role that they wish to apply for in the future to further their career progression.

The staff member then goes through a full interview day at another school (we used Northgate Primary and Chilton Trinity School) which involves activities including taking an assembly, Pupil Voice panel, Staff Middle Leader panel, Presentation, data task and final full panel interview.

The staff that took part this year were superb! They took the whole process very seriously and the quality of their preparation and presentations were excellent. This would have taken them a lot of time, on top of their daily roles in their own schools.

All of them will now receive very detailed feedback on every aspect of the process, from letter to interview panel. It is a fantastic professional development experience!
