Excitement at Visionary Plans for New Yatton Primary School

Families, parents and residents have been sharing their excitement at the visionary plans for the new Yatton Primary School in North End.

The Clevedon Learning Trust, which has taken on the new primary school, met the public about the plans at Horsecastle Chapel in Yatton.

The school will bring about quality education to the north area of Yatton, with excellent standards and provision.

One resident, mum Gemma Crocker said: “A new primary school will be a fantastic addition to the North End of Yatton.  As the area grows this will provide a vital service to the developing community.”

The CLT is aiming to open the school in September 2020, and is reviewing which classes to open with. The school will also have an integral nursery for children aged two years old and up.

North Somerset Council is project managing the building of the new school but will hand over ownership to the CLT when it is completed.

CLT CEO John Wells said: “This School will be a real partnership with families and the community, so it was excellent to meet so many people.

“We are very excited about this visionary project and are keen to work with the current Infant and Junior school in Yatton.

“We now would love to hear from interested parents for their views comments and questions.”
