Clevedon Learning Trust

Northgate Official Opening

Bridgwater children, parents and community are celebrating after the official launch of one of Britain’s best school buildings.

Northgate Primary School was officially opened in a reception at the school involving its current 48 children, parents, governors, members of the community, the Clevedon Learning Trust, and dignitaries.

The inspirational £6.7 million school has been running since September on the site of the old Sedgemoor Splash as part of a Bridgwater 'hub' for the expanding Clevedon Learning Trust.

A nursery opened on site in January, and the school has state-of-the-art facilities including an astro pitch, dance studio and hall, also available for the community.

At the reception the pupils presented some of their work on why the school is so brilliant in front of the watching guest and Media. One said: “I love the 3G pitch and the teachers.”

Executive Headteacher Heather Good said: “We are so thrilled to be in such an amazing school building, and every day we are so grateful for the facilities. The children are so overjoyed on a daily basis.”

John Wells, CEO of Clevedon Learning Trust, said: "The opening of this new school is more good news for Bridgwater with brilliant teachers and facilities. We now look forward to Chilton Trinity joining the Trust later this year. These are very exciting days for the town.”
