New Autism Centre

Clevedon Learning Trust pupils are celebrating after one of Britain’s best autism centres was officially opened - the latest exciting new facility for children in the town. 

Westover Green School now has a £700,000 state-of-the-art autism centre to serve the Sedgemoor area.

The Centre has a sensory room, calm room, kitchen area, outdoor play area and 2 classrooms, and can cater for 14 primary school age children.

The children in the centre can access mainstream classes for many lessons and also receive specialised support in a calm setting when necessary.

This week the centre was opened by the the Mayor and Mayoress of Bridgwater and pupil Max Whiteside along with guests from the town.

Executive Headteacher Heather Good, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this new autism centre and this is wonderful news for local children.

“We have a wonderful, happy community and this new centre and its staff are a superb addition.”
