Collaborative Maths Event
Staff and Year 11 students from Clevedon and Chilton Trinity schools recently took part in a collaborative maths event. The activity was hosted at Clevedon School and delivered by staff from both schools. The students worked in mixed school groups to solve some very challenging Grade 9 problems. The collaborative aspect gave staff and students the opportunity to learn from each other.
Feedback was very positive, with students and staff enjoying the challenge of working with new people on tricky problems.
"The opportunity to come and do some tricky maths with their peers from another school was daunting for a few of our students at first, but I think they really rose to the challenge and got a lot out of the morning."
"My head feels fuzzy from all the thinking. I was really challenged today and it's good."
The students and staff will get back together later on in the school year for part two of this activity, this time hosted by Chilton Trinity.
Chilton Trinity School is based on Bridgwater and is due to become part of the Clevedon Learning Trust in 2018.
